Tailem Bend usually has less rain than the Adelaide plains, so hopefully it won't be too wet for photography.

Digital Competition Rules updated

I've uploaded the updated file to a free file hosting site. You can download the file by clicking on the link below.

EPC Digital.pdf

Edited 15 August: The above link has expired. The new link on our new website: http://www.e-p-c.org.au/files/EPCDigital.pdf

Website problems and Digital Competitions Rules update

At the moment I'm unable to update the website with the update to the Digital Competitions Rules.

The main thing that has been corrected is the reference to the file name for your entries in the competition. An example for May 2007, of an image by Keith Seidel, in the Open section, his third entry, with a title of “Wondering”, would be “1-5-07o Wondering K1S3.jpg”. Have a space between the title and the code but NO spaces within the code digits.

A Pleasant Sunday Outing

A small group of dedicated photographers met at the Mount Barker for the Jazz and Heritage festival. It was an opportunity to see and photograph the Steamranger, as well as Jazz musicians, vintage cars, and various steam engines as well as the local area. The weather was fine although the wind was a bit cold, and the light was good for photography. Overall it was a good day, which was finished off with a light meal and coffee at a local cafe, while listening to an excellent young jazz trio playing outside.

SAPF Camera Club News

This email came from the SAPF:

"Over the past years the number of subscribers to the CC News has decreased and, conversely, the cost of printing and mailing has increased. Because of this the SAPF Management Committee has decided to email the CC News to the clubs and to place the CC News on the SAPF website http://www.sapf.org.au/notice%20board.html. CC News is a PDF file and a copy of Acrobat reader is required to read it. The reader can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html A printed copy of the CC News will still be posted to those club members who have already subscribed for this year."

Looking for theme ideas?

I've come across the Weekly Shot blog, which is good for ideas and inspiration on what to photograph. They have a weekly theme, which for this week is "Trees", and last week was "Look Up". Joining the group is by invitation only, but there is a link to a sister site called Vazaar, which will eventually be open to everyone. So if you are looking for a challenge to help you improve your photography, check out both sites for ideas.
